When you ask for directions in French, use one of these handy phrases:
Excusez-moi, pour aller à la poste, s'il vous plaît? (Excuse me, how do I get to the post office, please?)Où est la rue de Rivoli? (Where is Rivoli street?)Comment puis-je me rendre à la cathédrale? (How can I get to the cathedral?)When you give directions in French, use this useful vocabulary:
Prenez la première rue à droite (Take the first street on the right.)Traversez le pont (Cross the bridge.)Allez tout droit (Go straight ahead.)Tournez à gauche (Turn left.)Continuez sur environ cent mètres (Continue for about 100 meters.)Le musée est à votre gauche/droite (The museum is on your left/right.)Remember to use the imperative (command) form when giving directions!
