wütend can describe people's emotions, but it's more extreme than ärgerlich ("annoyed") or unzufrieden ("unsatisfied"). wütend is not really used for situations but rather for situations. Instead, they use schlimm ("bad") or gefährlich ("dangerous") for situations like those: Das Wetter ist schlimm ("The weather is bad").wütend im Bett erwachen ("to wake up with anger") or wütend im Bett sterben ("to die with anger").wütend in reference to some of their most ancient mythical beings. Thus, we get words like wütend im Geiste erwachen ("to wake up in an angry mood").
